Fantastic trip, thanks to Josh for organising quite late in the year. Phat House was awesome and was very comfortable. Cam and Bron were welcoming and so helpful. Very clean rooms, big and spacious particularly for Japan, TV with netflix for chilling after the day of skiing, comfy western beds, hot showers, an awesome bar/lounge/dining area with games + mulled wine/drinks/tea/coffee etc. The morning continental breakfast was simple but nice. The only downside for Phat House is location - although a walk to Iwatake (but not a whole heap in there), it was a tad harder to get to Echoland or elsewhere. The staff were super helpful though and shuttled you in the morning to ski fields, and did a shuttle into town in the evenings. But you had to get a taxi or the semi infrequent local shuttle back after dinner. Not hard if you planned which shuttle to get ahead of time or called a taxi 15-20 mins ahead. If you didnt want to head into town, the food at Phat House was delicious (but western). Absolutely couldn't fault the customer service from the Phat House team, and would definitely recommend people to stay there with the caveat about it not being a walk into main Hakuba and that you needed to master the local shuttles or taxis to get home. They also had a great service with Rhythm Snow rentals so that was handy, and staff who had a day off occasionally offered to take people up the mountain and ride down with them to show them some of the better runs. Schneider team were also lovely and the hotel had a lovely onsen and we had a view out to the slopes so no complaining!
