Japan’s onsen (thermal hot spring) tradition dates back thousands of years. Both a luxury and daily necessity, local hot springs serve the villagers as baths as well as sources of hot water for cooking.
The private thermal onsen baths at Residence Yasushi are fed with the highly valued Shinyu waters. The prized milky hues of the water evolve depending on the season and are known locally as ‘five colours water”. These onsen waters are rich in various minerals, abundent with the highly sought-after floating yunohana (mineral water flowers), and especially beneficial to your overall well-being and health. From this area you can also experience Nozawa's many public onsen baths.
Inspired by its peaceful location “寧 yasushi or yasuragi" a stone’s throw from the centre of the village, and the kindly welcome “優し yasashi” that the villagers extend to all visitors, Yasushi combines peacefully serene surroundings with a warm welcome.
Residence Yasushi's twenty rooms are designed to enhance your privacy and tranquility. Each room has its own ensuite facilities and combines the best of Japanese tradition and design sensibilities, with due consideration to contemporary creature comforts and modern amenities.
